There are nine layers to the anterior abdominal wall and they are (from superficial to deep):
- Skin
- Camper’s fascia
- Scarpa’s fascia
- External oblique
- Internal oblique
- Transversus abdominis
- Tranasversalis fascia
- Preperitoneal fat
- Peritoneum
